This week we announce the appointment of Susan Milner as the new Manager of the West Auckland office for Economic Development. Susan comes to us from AucklandPlus, the ARC’s regional economic development business unit, and will be a great asset to the local business community.
Prior to 1 November 2010 Susan Milner was the Manager - Business Capabilities and International Connections for AucklandPlus; the Regional Economic Development Business Unit of the ARC. In this role Susan and her team have been responsible for providing a single point of contact for responses to investment enquiries and requests for information about the Auckland region.
Her team also facilitates the delivery of Key Regional Projects - pilots for the PLATO Business networking and Workplace Productivity, two major regional initiatives in the Screen Production and Marine sectors and the facilitation of industry led development programmes for the Marine, Screen/Digital, Food and Beverage and BioScience sectors, which will deliver 10 year regional strategies and action plans for sectors identified as being of economic importance to Auckland.
Susan has a broad range of experience in the public and private sectors. Before joining AucklandPlus she was the Director - Marketing Programmes for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and Marketing Manager for Trade New Zealand. Susan has held export sales, marketing and business development roles for Carter Holt Harvey Building Products (Insulation and Roofing), Feltex Furnishings and Astley Leathers. Susan grew up in West Auckland and attended Rutherford College.
