Davis Funerals has been a family business since the 1950’s when Cliff Little purchased the company from Norm Davis. We are proud that we are New Zealand owned and operated and have served the community of Auckland for more than 60 years.
Over the years we have had the honour of carrying out funerals for families from all over the Auckland region, from state funerals to simple ones. It is our belief that every funeral is different and we treat each one as such.In January 2008 we were privileged to be asked to arrange the state funeral of Sir Edmund Hillary. But for all its grandness and international circumstance, all the military shoeshine and recitation of honours, Sir Edmund Hillary’s funeral was, more that anything, an intimate affair for all of us involved. In the quiet moments afforded the family, it was still a personal funeral, carrying out the families wishes.
Recently John Ritchie, a local west Auckland businessman passed away. John was the highly successful owner of Ritchie’s Coachlines, a business with a fleet of over 900 coaches. Ritchie’s coaches have been the mainstay of coach transport both in the local community and in domestic services in New Zealand for over 70 years. John was well known both within the community and in business circles around New Zealand and will be greatly missed. We were proud to be involved in John’s funeral service, to honour a man that has given so much to his community.
Like John Ritchie we believe in helping the community. Each year we host the Police Remembrance Service at our Central Park Drive chapel, hold Christmas memorial services in each of our three venues across Auckland, support the West Auckland Hospice and sponsor local bowling clubs.
At Davis Funerals we endeavour to provide the funeral service that’s right for every individual. It is important to us that an individual’s needs and wishes are carried out, whether they are cultural, spiritual or personal. But whether it’s the funeral of a national hero or a much loved private family member, our focus and commitment is always to provide the family with the highest possible level of care, understanding and service excellence. Our involvement and experience in funerals supports our belief that ‘everyone is different, that’s why we are’.
Davis Funerals proud sponsors of the BA5, supporting the local business community.
