The Waitakere Secondary School Gateway Cluster appreciates the support local West Auckland businesses that have provided to over 400 West Auckland students who participated in the programme this year.

The students attended Rutherford College, Waitakere College, St. Dominic’s College, Liston College, Massey High School, Green Bay High School, Henderson High School, Kelston Girls College, Kelston Boys High School, Te Kura Kuapapa o Hoani Waititi Marae and Avondale College.

Because these businesses have opened their doors to the Gateway students, they have exposed them to the real world of work which is something that cannot be learned within the classroom.  As a result of this experience, some students have gained part time or full time employment including apprenticeships.

It is the goodwill and support of our local business community which makes this programme work so successfully.
