Powerful Growth is a Waitakere Enterprise initiative valued at $7,000 per participating company. It is designed to help you get your business in top shape for growth and to be there during the first six – twelve months of your expansion.Being in top shape means understanding exactly how you stack up in all areas of your business – from finance and strategy to HR and marketing. Our Powerful Growth Business Advisor will help you take a 360 degree look at your business. Once any gaps have been identified, they’ll put you in touch with any experts you need, and will be your coach and sounding board while you plug those gaps and grow.
What Powerful Growth does

- Provides owner/ managers and their teams with an objective sounding board for business ideas and solutions
- Taps you into a network of expert advice as and when required

The process
Powerful Growth is a workshop-based programme that works directly with owner/ managers and, where appropriate, their senior management teams. After an initial assessment and interview around eligibility, successful candidates will attend a briefing session and a plan for the next six – twelve months will be mapped out.
Where needed, Waitakere Enterprise will bring in expert external advisors to assist with areas where business strategy or implementation is weak.
Participants in Powerful Growth are also eligible for a Meet the Board session. At Meet the Board, participants will have the opportunity to present their business strategies to some of Waitakere’s most experienced business professionals in a Boardroom setting.
Who is eligible?
There are ten places available on Powerful Growth for 2010. To be eligible your business must have:
- Five or more staff
- A proven record of growth of 10% p.a or more
- Turnover in excess of $500K p.a
- Diversity in product and service offering
- Business growth constrained by your own (owner/ manager) management capabilities
