What is TechNZ?
TechNZ is the business investment programme of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. TechNZ provides up to $40 million each year to businesses to discover and develop new technologies, and build people’s skills and knowledge to carry out leading edge research and development.
TechNZ helps world class companies innovate and grow. They invest in technology for new products, processes and services and they invest in knowledge and skills to improve R&D capability. Their support is targeted at key sectors of the economy with strong growth potential and at high growth companies that are exporting or moving towards exporting.
The four targeted sectors are:
- Specialised Manufacturing
- Food and Beverage
- Biotechnology
- Information, Communication and Technology
- Technology investments provide co-funding to help firms do high-risk, advanced R&D projects that they could not manage to undertake with their own resources. Technology funding can be used for companies developing new products, processes and services.
- Capability investments provide funding and expert advice to improve technical knowledge and the ability to undertake R&D. Capability funding supports the development of people’s R&D skills and ability through engaging mentors, experts, employing young scientists and researchers and providing access to technical skills development.
How does my Business qualify for a TechNZ Investment?
