Westpac
Westpac is proud to be associated with 15 regional Business Excellence Awards throughout the country, and has been involved with the Westpac Waitakere Business Awards for the past two years.

It’s a partnership that reflects Westpac’s relationship with Enterprise Waitakere and the impact this region has on New Zealand business.

Every year, the Awards honour local companies, their people and their extraordinary achievements in New Zealand business. The awards showcase success and put the spotlight on our deserved winners, helping to build networks and raise profiles.

But the real reward for entering is the process involved. These awards give small and medium sized companies the opportunity to really focus on their business - identifying the opportunities, strengths and weaknesses that exist and finding ways to build on them and keep a competitive edge.

Here at Westpac, we’ve been doing the same thing. We have embraced the concept of ‘bringing back the bank manager’ and over the next year will be putting in 120 new business bankers, including Local Business Managers, Transactional and Agribusiness Managers to support areas important to the New Zealand economy.

Over the last four months we have lent more to New Zealand businesses than all of the other big banks combined. So as you can see, we’re still very much open for business.
I think you’ll agree with me that there is no better time to celebrate excellence in business, whether it’s customer service, management, leadership, or productivity. Good luck to all those businesses entering the awards.

Icehouse--business-growth-c

The ICEHOUSE

The ICEHOUSE is a development factory of owner managers and entrepreneurs that will shape the future of the New Zealand economy. Since 2001, The ICEHOUSE has worked with over 2,500 ambitious owner managers, from start-ups to established multi-million dollar companies, and has helped raise over $50million in capital, to accelerate business growth and drive wealth creation.

The ICEHOUSE Business Growth Centre is pleased to offer the winner of Best Owner Managed Business Award a place on its Owner Manager Programme. You will sit alongside other owner managers with growth objectives and join 500 other New Zealand business owners who have already benefited from this award winning programme.

We are now the largest residential property management company in New Zealand and with a significant market share. We achieved a compounded growth rate of over 40% for the first 5 years after completing the owner manager programme. I attribute a good deal of the success we have enjoyed to the Icehouse and the owner manager programme I attended.
Ross Davey, Owner, Quinovic Property Management Limited

I just can’t stress enough the value I’ve had out of the time and money invested in ICEHOUSE, both in the Owner Manager Programme and subsequent events. The ICEHOUSE delivered two major things. It gave me clarity, and, although this may sound a little strange, it gave me permission. The clarity in seeing what is going on and what needs to be done and the permission to do it, through knowing that the actions I’m taking are valid. And for me, a computer engineer who has ended up owning and running a business, that’s brilliant.
Philip Adamson, Founder and CEO, Outsource IT

Please Note: The cost of The Owner Manager Programme is free. The winner will need to pay all travel, transfers, meal and accommodation costs (approximately $4,000 at commencement of the programme). Timing for taking up the price must be with the agreement of The ICEHOUSE.

Portage and Waitakere Licensing Trusts

Portage and Waitakere Licensing Trusts were formed in 1972 following a vote by residents to establish community control over the sale of alcohol in West Auckland. The charter required an entity that would sell alcohol with care and responsibility, with the wellbeing of the community in mind.

There is a genuine desire to provide an entity where profits are important, but tempered by social conscience and where ownership and benefit would be vested in the local community.

As a business operating only in West Auckland, owned by the community and governed by Trustees elected by residents, The Trusts participate actively in all sections of our community. The Trusts have supported the Waitakere Business Awards since their inception.

The growth of Waitakere’s economic base via strong commercial activity and recognition of those businesses that excel is vital for our status in the wider Auckland environment now and in the future. The Trusts are proud to be sponsors of the Waitakere Business Awards.
